About Kiran

Kiran Thakrar an Indian composer, producer and Keyboard & Harmonium player based in London has been working, living and breathing music over 25 years.

His music has been heard on major TV channels worldwide like BBC, CBC Sky, ITV and many other for which he has produced specially commissioned 'production music' album for Universal Production Music, Programmes include 'The Real Shilpa Shetty', 'Desi DNA', 'India Schools' 'Tonight with Trevor McDonald' and many more.

He has just composed original score for film ‘Diana’ which in being shown internationally in various film festivals.

In 2001 the album ‘Beyond Boundaries in which Kiran collaborated and co- composed music was awarded the highest award-‘The Juno award’ (Canadian Grammy) by the Canadian music industry. He has also been awarded for the recognition of the best selling popular album ‘Love 2 Love 2001’. Kiran was recognized for the success of the album ‘All Time Hits’ for the Bollywood music director Nadeem of Nadeem Shravan fame.

He has performed in more than 4000 concerts worldwide and has worked with some of the most respected names in the industry like Late Ustad Nusrahat Fateh Ali Khan, Zakir Hussein, Sivamani, Ginuwine, James Asher, Bill Bailey, Hariharan, Richa Sharma, Runa Laila, Hans Raj Hans, Sadhna Sargam and Bollywood music directors Ravindra Jain, Nadeem Shravan and many others of this caliber.

A strong interest in the musical technology led Kiran to explore the worlds of computers, programming and found this a great opportunity to pioneer fusions of Eastern and Western musical styles and this encouraged Kiran to further explore the creative fusing of modern technological processes, and the blending of broad global elements to evolve truly new musical genres. Kiran much enjoys the possibilities of creative manipulation offered by hard-disk recording in his studio Globalrootz.

	Composed original music score for multiple award wining short film 'Diana' Kiran Just composed a moving score integrating Indian classical with western classical music for a film 'Diana'. After winning 'Best UK Short film' at 'Iris Prize' and 'Jury awards' in Seattle now Diana is officially selected for 5th India International Women Film Festival 2009
	Collaboration with Bill Bailey Kiran and his 11 peice band Bollywood Pandits performed with famous Comedian Bill Bailey at Wembley arena London. It was a fusion project with legendary Bill Bailey for which Kiran composed and arranged Indian music on Rock band Radiohead's popular song name Creep. DVD is released by Universal pictures. 	Composing for forthcoming single name 'Baby' Kiran composed single name 'Baby' which features Anu Shukla (Kiran's partner) and American RnB star Ginuwine was no 2 on Indie Chart and no 7 on RNB chart on BBC.

Best Production and Creativity Award
In 2005 Kiran composed, arranged and produced album name A voyage of peace and Joy, from this album one song has won second prize in international song contest by Tascam for best production and creativity

Best world music album of the 2004
In 2004, Kiran co-composed and performed in Canadian Album name "Beyond Boundaries" and it is been awarded as 'best world music album of the 2004' by Canada's highest JUNO Awards (Canadian Grammy)

Best Selling album of 2001
He has received an Award For Best Selling Album of 2001 from his record Company for album "Love 2 Love 2001", which is a remix album
